From there, strange events follow: Rikku and Paine start fighting Yuna … but is it really her? We will learn after a few minutes of play that it was in fact Leblanc who had disguised himself as Yuna … Weird weird all that … Rikku and Paine come to join her in the center of the stadium, then, it’s the end of the cutscene. In the audience, Rikku and Paine fight with the stadium guards: we guess they broke into it. A music between kitsch and pop starts (yes, it’s really ugly). The crowd is delirious … silence … we see Yuna in her Summoner costume, then she takes on a much more alluring outfit in a halo of light. Then, the camera goes up to the body of a sculptural creature that we guess to be Rikku. We first see a character who was not present in FFX: Paine who waves his hand to a person apparently placed in front of the camera but whom we do not see. Like the first FFX, the game opens with a cutscene at Luca’s stadium. FFX-2 really has a confusing introduction.
